Why Governance Training Matters
Governing boards hold legal accountability for the strategic oversight and overall success of the schools they serve. We believe governors and trustees can fulfil this responsibility most effectively when they have access to the right information and the opportunity to reflect on and discuss it. That’s why we offer comprehensive, tutor/facilitator-led training sessions to ensure governors can carry out their duties effectively.
While there is significant written guidance around governance, practical training and advice on how to discharge the governors’ duties effectively is not always readily available. Our aim is to help governing boards understand both the theory and its practical application, whether within a board meeting or as part of a governor panel, whether the school is part of a MAT, SAT or maintained school.

Current Dates for 2026
All our courses are designed for governors/trustees, those who are new to governance or as a refresher and will be delivered in live virtual sessions by our new colleague, author Rebecca Leek who wrote - The School-Ready Governor. Rebecca has been a Headteacher, Executive Headteacher, CEO, a class teacher and a SENCo. The courses will have a Q&A session at the end.
